Kofi Opoku is a designer and an educator with a passion for helping others. He uses his talents in animation, illustration, and design to create work that takes a society trending toward apathy on a path toward learned empathy. Kofi is originally from Ghana, West Africa and moved to the states to pursue a Masters in Fine Arts from the University of West Virginia. His plan was not to teach but to go back and continue practicing design. Plans change and Kofi has been teaching at the University of West Virginia for three years. What he has done with his research will be the focus of our conversation. He focuses on user-centered approaches when designing animations or print designs.
